Do you have "broken heart" syndrome?

If you've recently been assaulted by a sudden emotional issue, you may not be suffering from normal, everyday stress. In fact, you may have stress cardiomyopathy. According to Dr. Ilan Wittstein, a cardiologist at the Heart Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, this is commonly called "broken heart" syndrome.

Death, crime or a car accident may be the cause
Broken heart syndrome results from highly emotional issues, such as the death of someone close to you, being the victim of a crime or being in a car accident. Dr. Wittstein mentioned that one patient suffered from broken heart syndrome at her surprise party! Whatever causes your adrenal glands to pump out huge amounts of adrenalin and noradrenalin can lead to this syndrome. It's most common in middle-aged women, but anyone can have it.

Broken heart syndrome stuns your heart, causing you to have chest pain, shortness of breath and other symptoms of a heart attack. If your doctor DOES treat you for a heart attack, the results could be deadly due to inappropriate medication.

A homeopathic solution that's 95 percent effective!
If you've recently had a sudden shock to your system and are seeking medical attention for symptoms of a heart attack, tell your physician about the emotional situation you've experienced and ask if you have broken heart syndrome. He should be able to tell the difference between the syndrome and a heart attack.

You'll most likely stay in the hospital for observation or further testing and may be treated with a well-known homeopathic solution called St. Ignatius bean or Ignatia amara. Ignatia is traditionally used for its ability to calm sudden, extreme emotional disturbances. According to Polish researchers in the Department of Psychosomatics at the Medical Centre for Postgraduate Education in Warsaw, ignatia has an effective rate over 95 percent! This is impressive, as I cannot think of one prescription drug that has anywhere near that level of efficacy.

Ignatia is so effective in highly charged emotional situations that the Israelis have used it to calm terror victims and survivors. The Center of Integrated Complementary Medicine at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem used ignatia to successfully reduce the effects of a "multiple-casualty construction disaster." Within one day, victims receiving the solution experienced an 89 percent decrease in anxiety.

Amazon and all the vitamin retailers listed in the left margin carry ignatia. Enter ignatia in the search box on that site, and you'll have a choice of many brands. Pick whichever best suits your needs and pocketbook.

If you're dealing with ordinary stress and need some long-term solutions, you can find supplements in my Stress relief! blog.
